JUNIOR   SNOOKER    LEAGUE

 

 

LEAGUE  RULES

 

1.  A junior is someone who is 17 years old, or younger,

on or before the 1st September.

 

2.  Teams shall consist of 4 players for each league match.

With each frame won, the team gets a point.

 

3. Match dates will be agreed on at the start of the first half of the season

and again for the second half.

If a team fail to attend their opponents will be given the four frames.

The league card must still be completed so that the players

who were in attendance can add their win to the merit table.

 

4. The home team shall provide the markers, the away team the referees.

In the interests of fair play, the captains should ensure that their referees

are impartial in judgement

A referee should never coach or inform a player

that he is about to commit a foul stroke, or needs a snooker.

A referee must never offer a player advise in any manner whatsoever.

 

5. No Players may be transferred to another team once the player has played for a

particular team unless their team has withdrawn from the league mid-season.

In this case the players Merit score will continue.

 

6.  It shall be the responsibility of the captains to display, in prominent positions,

all snooker literature which they receive.

  

7. For the Team Handicap Competition a draw must be made

and then played in order drawn. Under no circumstances

can players be allowed to play earlier or later than their drawn position.          

 4 per team shall be drawn and a handicap shall be awarded

to the lesser team, depending on their league position.

This handicap based on league position shall be determined

at the season’s commencement.

 

8.   The  Lower placed team for  this team handicap will have the Home advantage.

               In the case of a tie on points, including handicap, a draw must be made

to decide which two players play a deciding frame.

The lesser team player shall be given 1/4 of his team’s handicap.

Having determined the handicap to the nearest whole point

the players may ask for it to be put on the board prior to the games commencement.

  

9.    MERIT shall be defined as the greatest number of league games 

won during the season.

  

 

HUGHES BROS COMPETITION

 

 1.  Entries should be submitted on the official entry form

by end of September.

Entry into the Competition is free.

 

2.    The Hughes Bros' Singles Competitions matches are Best of 3 for early rounds and 

Best of 5 from the Semi Final stage. 

Both Semi Final matches to be arranged by the secretary

and played on the same night if possible.

 

3. Matches shall be played in the home drawn players club,

unless mutually arranged otherwise.

4. Semi-finals and finals will be played on neutral tables,

unless mutually agreed otherwise.

5. It shall be the responsibility of the home player (Player 1) to arrange the match.

If the Away player (Player 2)  has not been contacted by the date

given by the secretary on the draw sheet then Player 2

will automatically be given home advantage.

If Player 2 has not made contact within the next 7 days then the

match completion date is the date when either Player 1 or 2

has to attend the club of player 1 where they will play their match or the player

in attendance will be put through to the next round.
