The results from Saturdays 2 in 1 Competition Day are now on the Junior competitions page. The next competition has not yet been arranged but it will probably be a snooker competition held at the club in Abergwyngregyn late October. 

Tuesday 9th August 2011

The next Junior Competition will be in Llanfair Club on Saturday 10th August. There will be 2 competitions on the day. On one table a Pool Competition and on the other a Billiards Competition. Enter one or both competitions. Entry Fee is just £2 per Comp. Trophies for Winners, Runners Up and Semi Finalists on the day. The competitions are open for all juniors aged 17 and Under.

The Junior Competitions page has been updated with entry details for the upcoming  '2 in 1' Competition Day in Llanfair.

The Anglesey league page has been updated with the Halifax handicaps. The teams involved in this wednesdays halifax cup games will be told who has teh home advantage once all match results are in, which should be later today.

The Anglesey league page has been update with the names of the merit leaders and the best break this season. The league table will be updated as soon as all league cards are in.

The Junior league page will be updated very soon. Attempts have been made for the junior teams to play a gwynedd junior side from Waunfawr but they say this is not possible. Other options are being considered. If something is arranged with a different club then the captains will be contacted ASAP.

A number of youth club pictures are to be added to the site. They will be added sometime soon! Sorry for the delay. 

The Anglesey League table will be updated in a few days time all being well, once he has received the last few league cards following the completion of the first half of the season.

The Junior league matches against a Gwynedd team will be organised over the next couple of days. Hopefully a game can be arranged for this coming Friday.

Snooker Coaching in Deiniolen is still going ahead between 4 and 6pm.

All invitations have been sent out for this years Invitation Cup. All 8 players have now confirmed that they are able to play on 4th December and are now shown on this years web page. The Invitation Cup  posters will be displayed in clubs next week.

The Anglesey Snooker League Draws will be made tomorrow night.

The Junior league fixtures have been agreed by all captains and the dates are now on the league page.

A busy day organising the Invitation Cup, Junior League Fixtures and the Anglesey League pages on this site.... Here's the latest....

Junior Snooker League fixtures are now on the Junior league page and plans drawn up need to be accepted by all captains before matches are played. The Anglesey teams involved will play each other once and then each team will play the a team of juniors from the gwynedd area. For the Anglesey teams, the wins and losses will count towards the final league table.... Team captains will hopefully confirm that they are happy with this new idea by the end of this week.  

The Invitation Cup 2010 will be held this year at the Amlwch Snooker Club. It will be on Saturday 4th December at 2pm. Only 8 invites will be sent out this year. The invites will be sent out this week.

Anglesey League - There is now a league page for the current season showing the fixtures aswell as current league table and Clares Cup Draw.

Junior League - Upto now we have 2 teams in Amlwch and 1 in Llanerchymedd. Something will be organised this week which will hopefully introduce new clubs into our league competitions.

Anglesey Snooker League - The league started last wednesday with a 5-1 win and a couple of draws. League leaders are Llanfair so far. The league pages will be updated shortly.

Snooker Coaching - Coaching sessions are busy at the moment with one to one sessions and sessions in group sessions in Amlwch and Deiniolen. This coming Friday there will be a session in Amlwch and then every fortnight. Weekly sessions in Deiniolen will return after the half term holidays. The Junior players from Deioniolen are now featured on the Snooker Coaching page.

Junior League - Due to low number of players at clubs at the moment, the league will start at a later date. The format will depend on number of teams. 

Anglesey Snooker League - Due to the Beach Snooker Club closing this winter, towards the end of this month, the league has been postponed. The beach teams are currently making arrangements at various clubs in the Holyhead area and we should know more by the end of this week. The league committee have decided that league matches will start a week later, on Wednesday 20th October.

Snooker Coaching - Snooker Coaching in Deiniolen every friday from 4pm to 6pm.     Coaching in Amlwch will be  on  Friday 15th October at 7pm.

Junior League - All team entries will be confirmed by the end of next week. 

Anglesey Snooker League - The AGM was held on Wednesday. Plans for a 4 man team were discussed and details have been sent to captains not present at the meeting for a final decision.An agreement will be made this wednesday night between the league organisers based on captains response to letters sent out. Captains should receive their letter in the post tomorrow or Monday.

Snooker Coaching - Snooker Coaching in Amlwch next Friday (1st Oct). A decision over the junior league teams will be made on the night.

Anglesey Snooker League - Paul is currently in discussion with two other players over the running of the league this coming season. More news over the next few days.

Snooker Coaching - Snooker Coaching in Amlwch will start very soon. The club is closed on a friday, at the moment,but if the club is busy over the next week or two, the stewards will consider opening on a friday and coaching will return.. Watch this space...

Quiet time for snooker at the moment. Coaching in Amlwch occasionally, mostly when the weathers isn't so good. The final youth club booking of the season was a couple of weeks ago and the Valley page has now been updated. No plans have been made for an invitation cup this year. If one does take place it will probably take place before the end of this year and hopefully with a new format. 

The snooker club in Brynsiencyn, Anglesey has just undergone a major refurbishment and should be reopening anytime now.

The Semi Finals of the Junior leagues Team handicap competition have now been arranged and need to be confirmed with all team captains. Matches detailed on the Junior Leagues Team Handicap page. Matches scheduled for Monday 19th & Friday 25th April.

Snooker Coaching in Amlwch tomorrow night.

Junior League matches have now been completed with Amlwch Blacks finishing top, by just one frame. We still have the Hughes Bros Cup running and the draw for the next round will take place in Amlwch tomorrow night.

Congratulations to Daniel Robert from the Amlwch Blues Senior team and Amlwch Pinks Junior team. In the past week he has won Amlwchs Annual 'Britannia Cup' Junior Snooker Competition aswell as a 16 and Under Junior Snooker Competition in South Wales last weekend. He is the current Hughes Bros Champion and has achieved the highest Break in the Junior League so far.

The Anglesey Snooker League matches have now come to an end with just a couple of finals to be played. The Trophy Presentation will be at the Beach Club on Saturday 10th April at 8pm. Captains have been sent info last Monday so should have received them yesterday.

"Apologies and latest News  from Paul.... "

"What a week... Apologies for the website not being updated over the weekend. Stressfull week last week. For the first time ever i had 5 days of youth clubs, trying to fight off a cold and a relation having a major heart op. I was exhausted by Friday with only having two hours of sleep for a couple of nights. Beware of extra strength Paracetamol with Caffeine!!!!   We all get those weeks where everything comes at once don't we. I nearly informed the chairman i couldn't attend but i knew i needed to attend to show i'm still supporting the league eventhough i can't can't continue next season with all that's required. I couldn't have cancelled the meeting either because you never know who's attending and you can't inform everyone. I made some recovery thankfully by 2pm Sunday and attended the meeting.  We had a meeting at the Beach on Sunday to try and find a secretary and the possibilty of a 4 man team. We also agreed that we should drop the rule that we brought in 3 seasons ago where players had to play 3 league games to take part in cup competitions. Players who attended the meeting were from Amlwch Blues, Beach Blues & Railway Club. Apologies were received from Keith Thomas of Beach Yellows, Steve Kelsall from Beach Reds and Paul Hughes from Railway Club.  The new ideas will be discussed again at the Trophy Presentation on  Saturday 10th April at the Beach. Richie Roberts from the Railway suggested that he could assist me with the league next season and this will be something that we will look into over the next couple of weeks to see if we both agree on what roles we are both willing to play. Since last night i have been calculating the league expenses to see if it can run smoothly next season with all the changes.. Still need to discuss the idea of a 4 man team with all team captains before we come to a decision. I will be mailing all captains before the final match of the season.     

One Anglesey League Final was played on Saturday. Paul Hinchliffe winning the leagues Over 40's Competition.

The Junior league matches have now come to an end with Amlwch Blacks winning by just one frame. One of the two Llanerchymedd teams finishing in second place. The Handicap competition will now be completed aswell as the Hughes Bro's matches which need to be completed ASAP. Matches will be arranged and played by the end of this week. I will be contacting all those who have not played their game yet.

A few youth club pages have now been updated and a few more will be done when i return from Newborough Youth Club later this evening. 

The Anglesey Snooker League Trophy Presentation will be at the Beach on Saturday 10th April at 8pm.

Many Thanks to all those who attended the meeting on Sunday and now looking forward to visiting Pentraeth Youth Club later this week and then refereeing the Britannia Cup Final in Amlwch on Friday night...".  Paul

The Anglesey Snooker League meeting will be held this Sunday at the Beach. The meeting starts at 3pm and we hope to discuss new ideas for next season providing we can find a new secretary for next season.

Amlwch Juniors won 4-2 against Beach Blues after junior Gruffydd Roberts took control of the team on wednesday night. Beach yellows won at Wylfa and Railway won at home to 5 man squad Amlwch Blues. Results in so far are now on the Anglesey League page.

There is a new page on the site showing details of the forthcoming 12 hour snooker marathon in amlwch Snooker Club on Sunday 28th February. All proceeds will be shared equally between the Anglesey Snooker League and 'Hope House' Childrens Hospice.

"New Venue for the Junior Ranking Event"

The 4 Junior Ranking Competitions have now been confirmed and now being displayed on the websites Junior Snooker Ranking Competition page and on posters now being sent out to snooker clubs.

The Anglesey Youth Clubs Llanddeusant page has now been updated with results and photo from Wednesdays 9 Ball Pool Competition which was won by Gethin Williams. 

The Hughes Bros Singles Draw was made in Amlwch Snooker Club last night. Full draw now on the Junior League Hughes Bros Cup page.

The Junior Leagues 2nd half fixtures have now been displayed on the junior league section of the site.

"Dates now confirmed for this years Junior Ranking Event"

Posters for this years Junior Ranking Event will be sent to clubs from today. The website will be updated on Sunday all being well showing all dates and details on the first competition in Llanerchymedd late February.

The Anglesey Snooker league pages now show the results from Wednesdays matches. Clares Cup Semi Finals take place next week. Yellows v Beach Blues and Amlwch Blues v Wylfa.

The draw for the next round of the Hughes Bros Cup will take place tonight so all matches must be played ASAP to have it completed by the end of the junior league season and the presentation day. Strict deadlines will be set tonight so we can get it completed.

The fixtures/dates will be arranged tonight in Amlwch for the second half of the junior league season. Llanerchymedd will then confirm the dates are suitable for them and matches will start in about a weeks time.

Winner of last nights 9 Ball Pool Comp in Jesse Hughes Centre was Ryan Lees. The winner of the Pool Challenge in Bodwrog on Monday night was Llion Stephen. Tonights Pool Challenge will be in Llanddeusant.

The first Youth Club Competition of 2010 took place in Gwalchmai on wednesday night. Results now on the Gwalchmai Youth Club page. The next one  will be at Rhosneigr.

The Anglesey Snooker League capatains need to let the secratary know asap which player in their team is taking part in the 12 hour snooker marathon. The players should now be collecting sponsors.

The Junior League Team handicap match took place at Llanerchymedd last night with Llanerchymedd Blacks beating Amlwch Reds. The Semi Finals will be played in January.

The Anglesey Snooker League Competitions are currently being played and all the results in have been posted onto the sites pages.

The last Junior Coaching and Competition of 2009 took place in Amlwch last night. Winner of the Handicapped snooker Competition was Connor Stubbs.

"Halifax Results now in "

The Quarter Finals of this seasons Anglesey Snooker League Halifax Comp, were played last night. Railway Club were short of players so had to give the match to Beach Blues. Beach Reds lost to Wylfa by just 5 points after having 70 points start. The Beach Yellows managed to defeat Amlwch Blues by 33 points with just 5 players  and Amlwch Whites won at home to Llanerchymedd. The league Knockout Competitions are now being completed and the next league game will be on Wednesday 6th January.

A Snooker Competition for Juniors has just been arranged and it will take place next Saturday,  12th December. Posters will be handed out during today's Doubles Competition in Amlwch.

The Anglesey League Merit page has been fully updated and now shows all wins and losses from the first half of the season. This coming Wednesday is the Halifax competition. The league matches start again on Wednesday 9th January 2010. Plenty of games in-between for players still competing in the Individual and Doubles Competitions.

The Anglesey Snooker Leagues Halifax Handicap page and seasons fixtures page has just been updated and now shows the teams and their handicaps for this coming Wednesdays Quarter Final matches.. 

More league paperwork will be posted tomorrow and should be with all league captains on Monday. Includes Halifax info, forms for the 12 hour snooker marathon, details of league meeting and league table.

The 2nd round of the Hughes Bros Junior League Singles Competition will be drawn tomorrow night. Matches in the 1st round should have been completed by Friday 30th November.

"Final league match for 2009 "

The Anglesey Snooker League has reached week 7, the half way stage. The league table, Halifax draw with handicaps and minutes from the meeting will be posted in the next couple of days. It will take a while for the cards to arrive so the merit table will be posted at the end of December with the next competition draws.

The Junior Doubles Competition on Saturday 5th December is now featured on the Junior Competitions page.

A couple of errors on the draw sheets posted. In the singles..Jim Ainscough plays Dylan Hughes. Dylan plays for Amlwch Blues of course and not Beach Yellows. The other error is on the Over 40's sheet. Ray Jones plays Geraint Owen from Amlwch Blues. The sheet reads Geraint Jones, Amlwch Blues.  Players have been notified of these errors.

"Anglesey League Draws in the post"

The Anglesey Snooker League Draws were handed out at yesterdays league meeting at the Beach Club. The minutes (in Brief) were typed up last night and a copy sent to the Chairman. As soon as he has confirmed it as a true account, copies will be sent to all captains.

The draws for the Anglesey Snooker League Competitions were made last wednesday night at the Beach between the league secretary and Andrew Brooks (Beach). They have been typed up and copies will be posted today to those captains not present at yesterdays league meeting. Players have until 10th December to keep their home advantage. Matches must be completed by Sunday 27th December. The draw for the next round will be made around 27th December and posted by the end of the year.

The Anglesey Snooker League now has a Halifax Handicaps page showing this seasons handicaps which remain unchanged. The Merit table has been updated, not fully, waiting for one card to arrive. 

The Junior League fixtures page has been tidied up. 2 results still to arrive. The Merit table will hopefully be completed by weekend.

Two Anglesey Youth Club pages have been added. You will find the link to them on the Anglesey Youth Clubs home page. The new pages are Llanfechell and Llanfairpwll. The Jesse Hughes page has also been updated following last weeks activities.

Posters will be displayed in Llanerchymedd and Amlwch Clubs tonight advertising the Christmas Junior Snooker Competition being held in Amlwch on Saturday. The competition is Doubles Snooker, Best of 3 throughout. The players defeated in the first round will be entered into a free singles snooker competition. The entry fee for the doubles will be the same as last year, £3.50 per player. The Junior Competitions page will be updated in the next couple of days.

"Close matches in this weeks Anglesey League"

The Anglesey Snooker League Table has been updated aswell as the Merit table. All the info i have has now been entered into the tables. As soon as the Amlwch Blues v Railway Club card arrives this will be updated again. The draw for round 2 was made at the beach club last night and is currently being typed. Draw sheets will be handed out at this Sundays meeting and the remaining will be posted on Monday to those unable to attend the meeting.

"Last day to claim home advantage"

The Anglesey Snooker League competitions are currently being played and all home drawn players have until tonight to arrange their match, otherwise they lose the home advantage. All matches must be completed by 26th November.

The Youth Clubs pages have been updated following recent Pool activities at Jesse Hughes, Holyhead and Llangefni Youth Clubs.

"Century Break in this seasons Anglesey Snooker League"

The Anglesey Snooker League pages have been updated with results in from this seasons Competitions and wednesdays Clares Cup Matches. The highest Break was set this week, a break of 101 by Andrew Hill in his first round singles match against Ray Jones.

Thursday 5th November

"Gareth Young - Winner in Llanddeusant"

The winner of last nights Pool Challenge Competition in Llanddeusant Youth Club was Gareth Young. 2nd place was Kieron Williams and Ben Gibson got 3rd place. The Anglesey Youth Clubs page has been updated with these results and a photo.

The Anglesey Snooker league pages will be updated as soon as the Clares Cup results are in. Some of the League draws pages have been updated with a few results.

Paul will be completing a pool competition for Holyheads Jesse Hughes Youth Club tomorrow night from 6-7pm and will then be travelling to Amlwch for Snooker Coaching and a team pool competition for the clubs Junior members tomorrow night from 7.30pm.

The Coaching page has been updated and now shows dates for sessions in Amlwch for this month. There will also be a coaching session in Llanfair Pg on Tuesday 10th.

The Anglesey League Competition Draw sheets are now on the websites league pages.  The Captains should have received them over a week ago. Players who paid their £2 to be added to the mailing list have also received copies by post.

The Anglesey Snooker League Table has now been updated. Not all league cards have arrived so the Merit Table will be updated ASAP.

 The Anglesey Snooker league competitions were drawn last night at the Beach Club by the secretary and Andrew Brooks. The draws won't be displayed for a couple of weeks as there is a lot of info to prepare for the web pages, handouts for captains and those on the mailing list. The draw was made early giving the secretary more time to prepare in what has been a busy month. The first round  will be played during November with home players having until 10th to arrange a date in order for them to keep the home advantage. Matches must be completed by 26th. All draws will be out for the league matches on 28th October. 

The Clares and Halifax Draw will be displayed on the league pages over the weekend, but here is how the draw for the Clares went...

Clares Cup Q-Final - 

Beach Reds v Beach Blues, Wylfa Reds v Llanerchymedd,  Amlwch Whites v Beach Yellows, Amlwch Blues v Railway Club. 

Junior Snooker- Snooker Coaching and a doubles competition for Amlwch Juniors tonight from 6.30pm. No coaching next week (23rd) but back on Friday 30th November. The Hughes Bros' Singles Competition will be drawn tonight in Amlwch. All Junior league players will be entered into the competition.

"Anglesey League & Junior League Competition Draws take place later this week"

 The Anglesey Snooker league pages have been updated early hours of this morning. Updates have been made to the Team Merit Tables. All match cards have finally arrived. The Draw for this seasons competitions will take place shortly and all draw sheets will be with the captains and those on the mailing list by 1st November.

Last nights "Pool Challenges" Competition was held at the Youth Club in Rhosmeirch. The Youth Club page has now been updated.

The Junior League Merit table has been revised with all players who are currently signed for a team. Can all team captains and competition players, please read through the new 'Junior league rules'. The page link is on the Junior League page.

A few things currently under construction for the site over the next couple of months. The Message Board page, Fun Stuff page and more importantly the shop site. Once all these have been done improvements will be made to the layout of the site making it a little easier to navigate.  

More Youth Club pages will be added over the next few weeks.

Tuesday 13th October

 The Junior league pages have been updated today. There is now a page showing all the junior teams and players signed. The fixtures have now been agreed by all captains and matches get under way this Friday in Llanerchymedd and Amlwch. The draw for the Hughes Bros' Singles Competition will be this Friday during the coaching session in Amlwch.

Paul Thornton visited the Dwyran Youth Club for the first time last night. A great turnout and the Challenge Sheet Competition was held. Results are now on the Anglesey Youth Clubs new 'Dwyran Youth Club'  page.

The 'Anglesey Snooker League's new season started last night. 3 of the 4 matches results are now in and shown on the league page. The league table will be updated later this evening. All Registration and entry forms must be in by Saturday in the stamped addressed envelope provided.

"Rhys Williams - winner in Llanerchymedd"

The 'Junior Snooker League' starts on Friday 16th October with matches in Llanerchymedd and Amlwch. Details of the fixtures and the Hughes Bros' Singles draw are now on the Junior League page. The Pre-season competition was held in Llanerchymedd on sunday and the winner was Rhys Williams from Amlwch. 

Thursday 1st October

"Hope you like the New Look Site"   

The 'Junior Snooker League' starts again early October with a competition this Sunday, during which we can arrange the fixtures. 

My next 'Youth club' booking is not until Monday 12th October where i will be visiting the club in Dwyran for the first time and then Rhosmeirch the following night. There are more photos still to be added to the youth club pages aswell as a page for the Pentraeth youth club and Dwyran youth club. These will be added over the next few weeks.  

The 'Anglesey Snooker League' starts on Wednesday 7th October and all captains should have now received the fixtures in the post. All match cards and the new booklets will be given to the club or captain by the end of this week. The league fixtures poster should be ready for me to collect from the printer tomorrow, then delivered to the club later in the evening...
